Now airing its second season and preparing to shoot its third, Girl Meets World shares much of its tone and its supporting cast from its predecessor, the 90s hit, Boy Meets World. Now 16, Fogelmanis has most recently enjoyed success as Farkle Minkus, the second-generation Minkus and resident genius on the Disney Channel’s multi-generational hit, Girl Meets World. He started out early, at age six, and naturally took to performing for the stage and television. The complexity might be what makes it challenging to pinpoint a specific type.Corey Fogelmanis has been a performer for as long as he can remember. Girl Meets World has complex characters and storylines which call for analysis, especially by history/literature/psychology/drama students. I still see elements of both, so there may be a retyping eventually. Note: I’ve been waiting to type Farkle because I’ve been tied between INTP and INTJ. (See “Girl Meets STEM” and “Girl Meets Legacy.”) As his character matures, he starts to wonder if feelings are stronger than science. He is vocal about loving Riley and Maya equally and has grown more and more comfortable with displaying affection for his girlfriend, Smackle. Farkle can emotionally support Maya like he did in “Girl Meets Texas” and has an especially deep, accurate understanding of Riley and how she really feels. You will never see him again.“ He also wants the best for his friends, and does what he believes is right for them even if they resist it. I don’t want anything to change.”Įxtroverted Feeling (Fe): In “Girl Meets Flaws,” he is a victim of bullying and says: “I just don’t want to be me anymore….I’m done with turtlenecks….He said I was the biggest nothing in this school.” In “Girl Meets Yearbook,” he is affected by others’ perception of him, changes his clothes, and declares: “Farkle is gone. Oh, my gosh.” In “Girl Meets Permanent Record,” Farkle said, “It has to matter what grades we got in middle school,” and Riley adds, “it has to matter that who we were affects who we are.” Farkle doesn’t always like change, and often reiterates this as he did in “Girl Meets Texas”: “I like us just the way we are. He drew from a personal experience with bullying to find out what was happening in “Girl Meets Rileytown”: “This is like when I always used to wear my turtlenecks and then there was somebody that didn’t like that I…. He looks forward to Cory’s history lessons because they emphasize how history repeats and how people can learn from the past. He loves collecting information to store and use in life. Introverted Sensing (Si): Farkle sticks with his friends. But you guys are my best friends, so deal with it.” In “Girl Meets Flaws,” he points out that “in order for a living organism to thrive, it needs to be allowed to grow.” In “Girl Meets Yearbook,” he tells his friends: “People change…and I think it could be a good thing….I’m growing up, and I don’t know what’s going to happen next. He is open to growth and change when he is sure it is for the best and will allow the person to thrive. He loves school because it opens his mind to new ideas, and Cory’s history class is constantly making connections between the past and present. In “Girl Meets I am Farkle,” he told his friends: “please don’t ever let me not understand love.” He has a tendency to jump to conclusions, basing his beliefs on what seems logical, before collecting all the information.Įxtroverted Intuition (Ne): Farkle loves science, ideas, and learning. He can zoom in on one person he cares about and fail to notice the obvious, observable feelings of others. This can cause him to miss the bigger picture. “Girl Meets Belief” revealed he thinks the only way to fully understand something is to put it under a microscope. Introverted Thinking (Ti): Farkle is highly intelligent: a genius and a scientist.
